2.5.0 alpha carousel question

First of all – YES, thank you for the new carousel feature. I’m thrilled!

I’ve just been working with it a bit and I love the implementation. Just one thing I’m unable to figure out.

I’d like on mobile to show 1 slide with the next slide just partially peeking in. I like doing this to communicate instantly that you can scroll. I understand I can accomplish this with a decimal value for the number of slides (e.g. 1.2). But is it possible to then center the active slide after the first scroll? (At least until the last slide where it should show the penultimate slide poking out on the left side.) Is that behavior possible currently?

P.S. I hope taxonomies will become accessible in Query block and Carousel block in the future. This would be amazing for e.g. showing a carousel of categories.
