404 full-width with Page hero

  • I created a Block type element, 100% editor width, element type ‘content template’ — but the container was not displayed in full width… I solved it by changing the element type to ‘page hero’ but now I don’t understand why, along with the block, a new container with the search bar appears. How do I disable it?

  • Hi there,

The search bar and other elements you see on your 404 page are part of the default 404 layout. This is expected behavior when you set the element type to Page Hero, as it only adds a hero section above the existing template—it doesn’t replace it.

Please change the element type back to Content Template, and then we can check the width issue.

  • Done, thank u.
    I’ll be waiting.

  • To have a full-width layout for 404, you need to set the 404’s content container to full width first.

You can do so via a layout element, set the content container to full width, and set the location to 404 template.

Let me know if this helps!

  • Thank you, Ying!

Yeah, now it works. I didn’t expected to create a specific layout element first… =)

  • Glad to hear that 🙂
