Accessing the Page featured image dynamically from an element

  • I have a page hero element which is applied to some pages. I want the page hero background image to be the featured image on the pages. I can do it on post but I cannot figure out how to get it to work on pages. https://area15.org/cruising-logs/

  • Hi there,

It should be the same setup as the post’s featured image. In your Page Hero element, what location have you set under the Display Rules?

  • I have set it to entire site but excluded front page and all posts.

  • There is no option for pages under the dynamic tags.

The “Current Post” option also applies to pages, not just posts.

Would it be possible for you to provide temporary admin access so we can take a closer look at the backend?

  • sure

  • I do have it working now but there is no option for pages. I have to use the posts featured image. And it didnt seem to work if I did it on the top level container either.

  • I’ve checked each of your pages, and it looks like they’re displaying the correct featured image as set for each page. Let me know if I’m missing something else?
