Add custom CSS to a block directly in the editor

  • Hey there,

I hope this hasn’t already been asked a lot, but I couldn’t really find anything on it. I’m really impressed with the 2.0 update and currently building my first site with it, so first of all: huge kudos! You’ve really made your editor even more powerful.

So, while using GenerateBlocks, is it possible to add custom CSS directly to a block? I mean, right in the editor? So far, I’ve always assigned a class to the block and then wrote the CSS in the child themes stylesheet or used Customizer → Additional CSS. It would be awesome to skip all that and just write custom CSS directly for the selected block in the editor. For example, I have a text block where I’d like to enable hyphens: auto; But this option isn’t available in the editor afaik.

    Cheers
    Philipp

  • Hi there,

Glad you liked the new changes 🙂

As for the custom CSS at block level, no, it’s not possible, unfortunately!

  • Hey,

Aah, bummer. Okay, then I’ll just do it like I usually do. But maybe that feature could be something for the roadmap? 😉

    Cheers
    Philipp

  • Maybe… and I think it would be helpful for experienced users.

But based on our average users’ CSS knowledge, it’s likely to cause malfunctions due to user CSS…

Thanks for the advice, I’ll make this topic as feature request 🙂
