Adding a Custom Hook (for specific post category)

  • Hi there.
I have my blog posts layout using a Content Template Element, under that I have Post Navigation Element. What I want to do is add content between the post content and the Post Navigation.
I have tried every hook location that relates to within the content but the block doesn’t appear. The only one that works is ‘After Main Content’ but that displays outside the post content, under the Post Navigation.
I thought i could do it with a Custom Hook but can’t see a clear step by step how to do that…

  • Have you tried adding the content to the post-navigation element as well?

Let me know if that works for you 🙂

  • I needed it to be a separate element to the navigation so that I can have a differnt element depending on blog category. In the end I added the new Element in ‘generate_after_do_template_part’ and set the priority to 1 and the post navigation to 2. Now the CTA element appears where I wanted it, above the post navigation.

  • Yes, you can use the same hook and tweak the priority 🙂
