Hi,
Is it possible to add Archive Cards and Archive Hero elements onto an existing page? I made several pages for website categories, but I forgot to include those elements. I used Explore starter site but I deleted the demo archive pages before creating my own pages. More info in the Private Information. Thank you!

Hi there,
Can you link me to the page in question?
However, why not use the default archive pages? I don’t think using static pages to display posts is a good idea.
Let me know ๐

In all pages linked to categories and subcategories, sadly ๐ญ, for example:
https://chonawrites.com/country/china/
https://chonawrites.com/editorials/general/I just realized that I created the wrong type of page (I assume it’s a static page?) when I saw this page link and the description of the category was not automatically added, so I had to add it myself:
https://chonawrites.com/editorials/fan-guide/So you suggested creating default archive pages and re-linking all categories and subcategories to these pages? Is there any article/video guidance for that? What other elements need to be there besides Archive Cards and Archive Hero?
I want the layout to look similar to the Explore starter site, but with only 2 columns since I want to replace the third column with a sticky sidebar for recent posts.
Thank you!

So you suggested creating default archive pages and re-linking all categories and subcategories to these pages?
The archive pages are there by default, you do not need to create them.
What’s wrong with the original set up of the explore template? As the archive pages are already configured and set up correctly.
You do NOT need to create static pages, that’s a lot of unnecessary work.
Check this link, it is the default category archive: https://your-domain.com/category/country/china/

Alright, I figured out what the problem was. Apparently, when I created the menus for the site header, I linked them with pages instead of categories. When I made those pages I thought they were archive pages, but instead, they were static ones. As I always go to the archives through the header menus, that was where the confusion came from.
There’s nothing wrong with the Explore template setup. That’s why I chose that starter site anyway. ๐
It’s all good now. Thanks for enlightening me! ๐ก
