Adding posts that are not part of the main blog

  • I manage https://getyourideal.com and I have it set up in such a way that everything new post is presents a domain name for sale.

    ..but

I also want to add a new set of posts (mostly for SEO) with case studies, technical aspects of domain flipping, stories of interesting acquisitions, etc. The thing is that I don’t want these posts to be part of the ‘latest posts’ or ‘category posts’ or other sections of the blog. I just want them stored in one category like ‘blog’ or something like that and only be seen by search engines and people with link (i.e from social media post)

    Is that possible?

  • Hi there,

I would recommend creating a new custom post type for those new posts, so they won’t appear in the latest posts or post category archive.

    For more info: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-create-custom-post-types-in-wordpress/
And the easiest way to create a custom post type is to use a plugin like SCF or CPT UI.
