Angled label at top right corner of container

  • Hi there!

I want to add a label to the corner of a container like this:

I’ve now done it by adding a headline block into a container, and then adding a bunch of negative padding like this:

Then, of the parent container (white block) I set oveflow-y to hidden.

This is working and gives the result above, but it’s not a very neat solution.

Isn’t there an easier way to add such a label? I especially don’t like to have to guess the bottom margin so that the content underneath appears to be normal. I basically want the label to not take up space, and just the be there.

    Hope that’s clear. Thanks! 😄

  • Hi there,

it’s a tricky design element to get right as theres a lot of variables to consider, from the length of the text, the topography settings, spacing where it has to sit in the container ….

So I don’t have a one size fits all solution but if you want me to take a look at what you have done so far I would be happy to.

  • Thanks! I’ve played around a bit more with it and now did it directly to the headline block, seems to work well and is a bit simpler: https://jmp.sh/lajFjJci

  • Looks good 🙂
