Best Practice for creating Global Styles that can be switched between by owner?

  • I am in the process of migrating a church site to GeneratePress and Generateblocks Pro to use the custom styles and other neat features, but I was wondering (and sorry if I just didn’t find it) if you all have a best practice if I wanted to setup seasonal global styles and how best to switch between them?

The site is for a church and they have different colors for liturgical seasons like purple for lent etc. So I was hoping to have an easy way to make a few subtle changes to the site for each season like changing the default button color for example.

    Thoughts and suggestions appreciated.

    Thank you for great products

  • Hi there,

If it’s just changing colors, you can change the global color directly at customizer > colors.

For example, set a color specific for button, and assign this color to all buttons, then you can change the button color in the customizer to change all button colors.

    Hope that’s clear!

  • So far when using the GenerateBlocks button that doesn’t seem to work. It is like each button is it own selector. Unless moving from GenerateBlocks Pro I need to recreate each button?

  • Are you using global style for GB buttons currently?

If so, then you can change the global style colors in this case.

  • Okay, I figured out my issue. I need to go into each button I already created and clear out the color fields for the global to take control. I think i’m thinking to big for what I am trying to do and will keep playing with it. In my head I was creating a style for the whole site, but the system is designed to do individual styles so I need to think different. Thank you for helping.
