Hey there,
I can’t seem to remember or find it in the docs. I’m working with my dev to change the nav, footer color and a few other things, such as button colors.
Is their a specific area where you recommend doing this? ie should i create my own elements, or is their a spot where i should select the nav in the “customize” area. I’ll provide a short video in the hidden thing along with my site.
thanks!

Hello,
For the navigation colors, there is a specific section in the Customizer.

The left column is the initial color, middle column: hover color, right column: current color.
For the homepage button you would need to edit the homepage and edit the button from there, this is a GenerateBlocks button so you edit that in the block editor.

Awesome thanks! To confirm did i do something wrong? If you see my video I was clicking those and the colors did not change. Thanks again.

Hi Scott,
Please check George’s screenshot again; he was highlighting the primary navigation tab at customizer > colors. I did not see you changing the colors for primary navigation in your video. Can you give that a try?
And for the button color in customizer, it’s for the default buttons like the submit button for comments, etc. The button in your hero section is a custom button added via a button block, you just need to edit the page and change the color for the button at the block level.
As for the footer, it’s a custom footer, the customizer option will not work. You can find the site footer element at appearance > elements, and you can change the colors at block level.

Hey there, one more question, i noticed the blog looks a little crazy and I’m not sure what to do. I’ll put a new video in the private thing.

Hi there,
In the new Page Title new Element, try adding the All Archives location under the Display Rules.
As for changing the WooCommerce product button colors, you can do that under Customize > WooCommerce > Colors > Buttons.

Awesome thanks! All worked great. I have one final question.
1) How do you recommend I add a button to the “top bar” – I put a very short video in the private thing.
2) Also, how do you recommend to add bread crumbs to the WooCommerce Category and Product pages?Thank you again!

How do you recommend I add a button to the “top bar”
The way I would build this is to wrap the existing Headline block in a container, then add a Button block inside that same container as well.
On the wrapper container, set the background color, then change the display to Flex. Set Align Items and Justify Content to Center, and add some column gap to create spacing between the headline and button.
You may also want to add some padding to the wrapper container so there’s comfortable space around the content.
Also, how do you recommend to add bread crumbs to the WooCommerce Category and Product pages?
For this, I would typically recommend using the breadcrumb feature provided by an SEO plugin, as GeneratePress doesn’t include native breadcrumb functionality.

Thanks, I did all that, but I think I missed someone basic. Can you please have a quick look at my video? added to the private area. I’m not sure how add the button to the bar area once all that is done, ideally to the right of the text.
Thanks again!

Hello,
Ok, for the button. Wrap the headline to a GB flex container with center alignment as you have it now. Then add the button below the headline. The flex container will keep the headline and the button horizontally. You can the use column gap on the flex container to control the spacing between the headline and the button.

Okay thanks, here is the site, as you can see I’m having a hard time with the button now 🙁
Can you see my most recent video in the thing? Is that what you had in mind? How do you recommend I make the bar smaller so I can make the button fit more clearly?
Thanks for all the help, I”m sorry i keep asking.

wow thats so cool and nice of you. I’ve put it into the chat thing. Many thanks!

Here, you go, have a look now. You had made the actual headline as flex. I removed that and also the paddings values and background color. I’ve added those in the outer container. I have set the inner container as flex. This will now control the headline and the button alignment.
