Best Starter Site for Best Practices, Current Features?

  • TheManBehindTheCurtain

Do any of the starter sites at the GP website show off the latest features, particularly use of global styles? Many are quite old, and don’t tell you when they were last touched.

I’m not looking for design ideas. I’m just looking to study a soundly designed GP/GB infrastructure with best use of global styles, responsive layout using GP block settings, responsive typography using REM/clamp, etc. In other words, something that demonstrates the latest best practice for GP/GB architecting. I been avidly consuming Jonathan Jernigan tutorials on your YouTube channel, but it’s hard to get the broader picture from brief videos on individual bits.

If you had to say, “this sample provides the best look at GP’s latest capabilities to deploy modern, clean, responsive websites,” what would it be?

    Thanks …

  • Hi there,

It seems like Harmony matches most of the criteria you mentioned. It’s built using the Pro Pattern Library and effectively showcases the synchronization between site styles and patterns. If you take a closer look, you’ll notice the following key aspects:

GP Elements Usage: How GP Elements are implemented across the site.
4 Local Patterns: Three on pages and one for a query.
Style Sync with the Pro Pattern Library: The patterns and styles are seamlessly integrated.
Simple Color Palette for Brand Refresh: You can easily switch between Contrast and Accent colors for a refreshed look.
Font Typography Setup: It uses the clamp method for responsive typography across headings (H1 to H4).

Thanks Alvind! I’ll definitely check it out on my staging/dev site.
