Best way to create a template for a CPT

  • Hello everyone,
Now that we are in the GB2 world, what is the best way to create a template for a Custom Post Type with a number of custom fields ?
On the Elements for GP docs it says this:
“Starting in GP Premium 2.0, you can create a Content Template in the Block Element module with the help of Dynamic Blocks and Dynamic Data”
But I’m unsure how to make a template/element to apply to all entries for my CPT ?
Do I still use a GP element ?
    TIA, Dave
ps: Nothing to show, just at the concept stage!

  • Hi Dave,

There are no changes to the current method of building templates using Elements. What has changed is how dynamic data is set—in V2, the dynamic data system using Dynamic Tags is more flexible than the previous V1 engine.

On the Elements for GP docs it says this:
“Starting in GP Premium 2.0, you can create a Content Template in the Block Element module with the help of Dynamic Blocks and Dynamic Data”

I think you’re referring to an old document since it mentions GP Premium 2.0. Here’s the link to the GB 2.0 documentation in case you missed it: https://learn.generatepress.com/
