Blank container blocks after WP 7.0 update

  • In the block editor, some of my GenerateBlocks Container blocks and their content are completely blank since my site updated to WP 7.0.

There’s no cache on the site as it is a development environment and I’ve tried deactivating all other plugins which did not help. Site also uses GP Premium, but deactivating that did not help either.

The only thing that did help was switching away from the GeneratePress theme.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Chris

  • Hi Chris.

Credentials don’t seem to be working.

  • Oops. I forgot to press submit! Please try again.

  • Hello,

I wasn’t able to have a look at the backend for the homepage since you were editing it. Let me know when you are done so I could have a look.

  • Hi,

I don’t have the page editor open. Can I suggest you opt to take over editing if it still says that I’m editing the page?

    Thanks,

    Chris

  • Hi there,

in the Container Blocks Settings > Advanced > ADDITIONAL CSS CLASS(ES), there is the bounce-up class, which is adding CSS with an opacity: 0 property, hence you can’t see the block. Removing the class fixes the issue.

I assume this CSS is for an animations that should only apply on the front end. So you may need to look at how that CSS is now being loaded.

  • Ah. Thanks for pointing that out. Interesting that the opacity was not being applied in the editor prior to the WP 7.0 update.

    Thanks again!

  • We had the same issue with some random text blocks removing text in the back end, yet you could still view the content on the live pages. Very strange. Presume it is some sort of WP7 bug?

  • Hello,

Hmmm, yeah, it seems like it!
