Blog Post Formatting Broken

  • Hi,

I’m stumped as this website was working fine. The page and archive formatting is all working as designed. The formatting for the individual blog posts is broken. I’ve looked everywhere to find out why. I’ve disabled all plugins that could affect formatting (minifying, caching, performance enhancements etc.). When I’m logged into the website, the posts are formatted correctly. When I’m logged out, they are not. Broken formatting includes the navigation not aligned right (it’s floated left), the background color for the content should be white with padding and all padding and margins are gone. I’ve uploaded two screenshots – one when I’m logged in and the other when I’m not.

The mystery is why are all the pages and archives fine but the individual blog posts are not and why all of a sudden.

    Thanks for your help.

  • Hi there,

It looks like a cache issue, can you disable your cache plugin to test?

  • Hi Ying,

That’s what I thought too but all caching is disabled on the site including anything that minifies the code or .

The caching plugins are all disabled (cleared cache first) and I also turned off memcached on Siteground.

  • Let me finish my sentence 🙂

or delays the loading of JS.

  • Do you have server-level cache enabled?

How did you style the content area? Custom CSS?

If so, can you attach the CSS?

  • I shut off the server level dynamic cache. It’s done through Siteground’s optimizer plugin – that’s disabled. WP-Optimize is disabled. Memcached is disabled.

Not sure what you are asking on the styling – which content area, the blog post? The blog post was pretty standard post content with formatting through the customizer. The pages are GenerateBlocks. The Archives I have a little bit of css to do the border around the grid but not much. There’s very little css outside of a few bullets and other plugin that need a bit of styling.

The confusing thing is why does it look OK when I’m logged in but not when I’m logged out? The caching and minifying stuff is what I checked first and shut them off.

You do have credentials to log into the site since I’m completely stumped about this.

    Thanks!

  • Hi there,

The issue is caused by one of your Elements, specifically the FB Lives element.

Try changing its Hook location to wp_body_open instead. That’s the placement Facebook recommends for adding the script.

  • Hi Alvind – you are a genius! That worked. I would never have figured that out.

    Thank you!

  • You’re welcome! 🙂
