Button link color not showing correctly

  • Hi there,

If I set the colors in the customizer for the “Link”, it not only changes the link in the paragraph but also the link color of the buttons, that have a tag name “a”.
    My problem:
    – I want the normal links in the text dark green.
    – The a:hover of the text link should be light green.
    – My primary button has a dark green background, so the link (text) of the button should be white
    – The hover text of the button should be white, as only the background changes on hover

If I set the link color in the customizer Customize > Colors > Body > Link both the text link and the button link are the same color, e.g. dark green. The problem is, the button uses “a” as the tag name. If I use “button” as the tag name, I can’t add a link to the button.

Also: I can’t seem to change the a:visited color in the right side bar menu of the button itself… doesn’t have an effect if I change sth there.

Any suggestions on how to use buttons properly?

I already tried using the new Text-Block, but it doesn’t behave like a button would.

    Cheers,
    Dave

  • Hi there,

To change the hover state color for the Link Button, switch to the “Hovered Links” selector using the Style Selector in the editor:
