Capital Theme – Gradient Fade

  • LeeAnnBillings

Could you give me instructions on how to add gradient fade overlay shading on the hero image? I am using the Capital Theme.

  • Hello,

Please, edit the top container and open the gradient from the Background section.

Send me a screenshot of the gradient settings that you have. I will advice accordinlgy!

Screenshot is in the Private section. Thanks.

  • Hi,

I meant the settings in the backend.

Select the top container, then the Styles tab, scroll down to Background and click the pencil icon next to the linear gradient.

    Edit Linear gradient settings

    Then, send me this screenshot:

    Whoops, sent the wrong link.

  • Thank you.

Please, set the ANGLE to 90, replace 53 with 1 and 59 with 100.

The gradient doesn’t seem to be working. When I change the numbers, what I see in the gradient sample field is not what happens in the image overlay. No matter what I change the numbers to, the gradient does not change. See image at link in Private section.

  • Hi there,

It looks like the gradient overlay may have been applied to the inner container. That gradient effect should be applied to the parent container instead.

If you can share the page URL where I can inspect that section, I’d be happy to take a closer look.

This page is in a dev site. There is no URL to give you. Can you give me the steps to correct it?

  • Could you double-check in the List View which container the gradient is applied to? The gradient needs to be applied to the parent container, not the inner one.
