Hello dear GeneratePress team,
I am trying to use Elements to create the design of my menu with Bloc Element.
I have added some blocs, set up the display of the Bloc Element on all site and tried several Hook names like before_header, after_header, inside_slideout_navigation, menu_bar_items, inside_navigation… but nothing shows up yet.
I also tried desactivating my current menu but after trying to put it back, my previous menu completely disappeared. I was using the off-canvas menu for now until I can set up right the full width burger menu with an overlay on click on the icon to display the menu.
Here is the kind of menu I want to set up on both desktop and mobile : https://template-preview.ohwow.club/full-page-off-canvas-menu/
Many thanks for your help.
Kind regards

Hi there,
Do you have GenerateBlocks Pro? If so, you can create a block element – site header, and an overlay panel for the off canvas menu.
If you don’t have GB Pro and want to add blocks to the off canvas menu, you can use the block element – hook, and set the hook name to
inside_slideout_navigationorafter_slideout_navigation. -

Hi Ying,
thanks for your answer.
I have GeneratePress Premium but I haven’t got GenerateBlocks Pro.
Yes I have created a block element – hook and set the hook name to inside_slideout_navigation but the off canvas menu still don’t show up anymore. Same result with setting the hook name to after_slideout_navigation.
I have set the priority of this hook on 1. Is that correct or should I change the priority ?
Also I see that unlike other hook elements I have created, this block element – hook states in Elements page that the displaying place is undefined. I haven’t found where to change this and indicate on all website like for simple hook elements.
Your help would be really much appreciated.
Kind regards

Do you mean the menu does not show or the content in the element does not show?
If it’s the menu, make sure you’ve selected a menu for the off canvas at appearance > menus.
If it’s the element content, make sure you’ve set location to entire site.

You don’t have to change the priority, it’s to order the elements that are using the same hook.

You should be able to choose Entire site as the location, if not, can you disable all other plugins to see if that helps!
Or can you provide an admin login so I can take a look at the issue?

Hi Ying,
The menu does not show anymore although I have set my menu to the off canvas location in appearance > menus.
As for the Block – Hook Element, I have no options to set the location unlike simple Hook Elements. I have tried to disable all other plugins, although I don’t have many, but I still can’t see anywhere to pick Block – Hook Element location. I also tried to create a new Block Element but it was the same unfortunately.
I provide you with an admin login to check this issue.
Thanks for your help.

Can you disable all plugins and custom codes, including those JS in the GP elements?
Let me know if that fixes the issue.

I checked your block element called Menu full-screen, I can see the location option:

Let me know 🙂

Hi Ying,
I finally could see options to edit the location of the Block – Hook Element (Menu full screen) to choose “entire site” from the temporary account. It is weird I couldn’t see them from the admin account. Unfortunately it doesn’t solve my menu issue.
The menu still doesn’t appear anymore on the website as you can see on the front-end, although I tried all you suggested until there and disabled all plugins again and custom code. This is very annoying and making the website not usable… Could maybe your collegues in GeneratePress help solve this issue ?
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards

Your primary navigation location is set to the Left sidebar at customizer > layout > primary navigation, is that intended?
