CPT showing comments area besides being unsupported

  • Hi Team,

I’ve used ACF to create a CPT without the Comments support (unchecked).
The post itself has the comments section and I wonder why (the default post type has comments also disabled and they are not shown).

Could you provide guidance on how to get rid of it ? 🙂

    Thank you

  • Hi there,

It’s not something that the theme can interfere with, unfortunately.

Please check with ACF’s support for this.

  • Thank you Ying for the quick response. Is this process still necessary: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/setting-up-a-simple-custom-post-type/ ?

I don’t think this is an ACF problem, more a misconfiguration on my GP side …

    Thank you again 🙂

  • No, you are using a plugin to create the CPT, so you don’t have to follow that guide.

I don’t think GP has any settings specific for CPT. I just tested it on my site, when the comment is not supported, it does not show on the front end.

  • Thank you for the feedback. Indeed, I had some posts with comment_status set to open

  • You are welcome   🙂
