I use my own default template on some pages, but I note that disabling Content Title doesn’t work once I toggle it. These are custom-coded templates — actual PHP files in my child theme (e.g., edition-profile.php), selected via the standard WordPress “Template” dropdown, not GeneratePress Elements.

How did you try to hide the entry title? Are you using the layout metabox in the page editor or the layout element?

The check box at the bottom of the Edit sidebar/ Disable Elements?

You can use any email; WP does not check that.

I see, the entry-title is from your template, so GP can not disable it.
If you don’t want the entry-title to show, why not remove it from your template?
