I am recreating a site with GeneratePress that was originally built with the Dynamik website builder (Genesis) theme. I fear some of the guts of Dynamik are left behind in part and affecting things because of these messages I get in the customiser… I get boxes with ‘This page is using a Site Header
Element. Some of the options below may not apply.’
‘This page is using a Sidebar Element.
Some of the options below may not apply.’
There’s about 10 of them, they have links but the links don’t work!
Is this something you have seen before? Is it complex to remove or an easy fix?
Thanks! -
Hi there,
It seems normal if you are using the elements. They are just some notice to let you know the some of the customizer options will NOT work since you are using elements.
You can check at Appearance > elements.

that’s the problem. There are no elements in there! I think it’s the remnants of what was in the old theme. No worries, I’ll work around it… while we’re here though, what is the best tool in your opinion for finding css selectors, I don’t have much luck with Chrome tools – thanks!

I think it’s the remnants of what was in the old theme.
I don’t think so, the notices do look like from GP.
If you can provide an admin login, I can take a look at the issue 🙂
Let me know!

I’m experiencing this same thing. What can I do to remove the notices?

Hi @opus,

Hi
Yang
As requested, here is a login for the troublesome site.(in the private info bit)
As well as the multiple advisories in the customizer – to be seen for sure!
There is also a broken media library that won’t allow uploads.
It’s probably a staging path error thing but I feared the whole site was so old it was best to create a fresh one with just GP and Beaver Builder and not much else! (which has been peachy)
If you want to see the wonky one be my guest, it’s in the private bit.
I’m curious about the advisories and it seems I’m not alone so maybe worth a look… -
The login doesn’t work.
If you are sure that you don’t have elements and the notices are still appearing, just make sure the theme and GP Premium plugin are both up to date.
Usually, the issue is caused by the outdated plugin/theme or corrupted theme files, so reinstalling the latest theme/plugin should fix the problem.

Thank you – sorry about the login.
All the best -
You are welcome 🙂
