I deactivated the theme in the generate press area for a client. I did not have access to the clients WordPress admin area. But I deactivated it in generate Press.
What exactly happens? Can they just not update generate Press? Or what?

GeneratePress itself is free, so there’s no restriction for them to update the theme.
What you’re referring to is GP Premium. If you remove the client sites from your GeneratePress account, they won’t be able to update the plugin since it’s no longer authorized. However, if they know the license key, they can reactivate it at any time.

Thanks. How would they know the license key? I didn’t ever give it to them. Does the license key change every year? Or does it stay the same?
