Depiction product page

  • Hello,

I have a problem, I’m implementing my shop with Generate Press and WooCommerce. It’s the second shop I’m creating – the other one also runs with GP and Woo and the adjustments are almost the same – that’s why I’m kind of desperate :(.

All I want on the product page is, that there is the poduct picture on the left and the title and short description on the right and the tabs and additional information below.

That’s the standard, not any fancy wish.

And in my shop it looks totally great in the “customizer” preview, but whenever I change to the normal preview or even in live mode everything will be stacked and I have the picture and below the short descriptions and then the rest.

i tried the exact adjustments like in my other shop which is online for about 8 years now.

I’m sure, I missed something. Does anybody have an idea?

The shop is live now. You can see it here: https://phantastopia.de/produkt/darkadian-tale-tango-und-tod/

    Thank you,
    Sonja

  • Hi Sonja,

The issue is likely being caused by the W3 Total Cache plugin interfering with the stylesheet that controls the product layout.

Could you try temporarily deactivating W3 Total Cache completely and then check the product page again? If the layout corrects itself, that confirms the cache plugin is the culprit and we can look at the right settings to fix it without having to deactivate it permanently.

Let us know what you find!

  • Hi George,

    you’re a genius, thanks a lot!
That was it. I would never have thought of that. Thank you so much. This troubled me for such a long time now.

Du you recommend another caching plugin? Or do you know what I can change in the setup so that it’ll work?

    Thanks a lot,
    Sonja

  • Hi Sonja,

Rather than switching plugins, it’s worth trying to get W3 Total Cache working correctly first. Go ahead and reactivate it, then go to Performance → Minify and disable CSS minification and save. Then check if the product page layout is still correct.

If you’d like to keep CSS minification enabled at some point in the future, W3 Total Cache does allow you to exclude specific stylesheets from being minified — but that requires a bit more digging to identify exactly which file is causing the conflict, so for now disabling it entirely is the easiest fix.

Let us know how it goes!

  • Hi George,

it worked! Thank you so much! I will sleep well tonight. Thank you very much!

    Best regards from Germany,
    Sonja
