Desktop vs. Mobile content is different

  • Good day,

I have a website built on the Ethos site starter and hosted by Kinsta. When I view the website from a desktop the logo, images, links, etc. all work correctly. However, when I try to do it from a mobile device, essentially none of the information is there and it is all the generic data/information. I have tried removing plugins i added, clearing cache, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you!

  • Hi there,

I don’t seem to see the issue on mobile. This is what I see:

Can you let me know what exactly is not working? Thanks!

  • The “E” you see in the top left corner at the logo spot shouldn’t be there. Also, if you go to any of the links, they all go to the pre-built page in latin.

  • Oh I see, the template is using a mobile header, you can switch the mobile header logo at customizer > layout > header.

  • I will try fixing that. But what about the links that are right on desktop but not on mobile?

  • Sorry, what links? Can you describe your issue more specifically or can you provide a screenshot of the issue?

  • If you go to my website on your desktop and scroll down to the “ Experienced & Trusted” and select any of the links entitled “learn more” it goes to the corresponding page, but if you do it from a mobile device it goes to a generic page entitled “single practice page” filled with the generic prefilled info/latin.

If you got it my website and scroll down on a desktop and select the “learn more” button under the criminal section, it goes to this link: https://melvindixonlaw.com/criminal-defense/

If you scroll down a mobile device and select the “learn more” button under the criminal section, it goes to this link: https://sites.generatepress.com/ethos/practice-page-single/

The embedded on the desktop is not staying the same for mobile devices.

  • Hi there,

On desktop, the Learn More link still points to the dummy page on my end.

When you edit the page, is the link for the Learn More button updated to the correct URL?

  • I just cleared all browser cache, history, etc. and redid the links and image. I think I got it all working now.

  • Glad to hear that 🙂
