Different experience than GeneratePress Video tutorial

  • Hello,
I realize this video is 4 years old – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yq6VcgU3Ufg but I am trying to create a hero section for my blog articles following the same logic and i have a different experience after adding a container as compare to 1:28. There is simply no option to add dynamic content in my Elements section, everytime i set a background image it is a static one. https://imgur.com/a/kGqA3HX
Note – i have GP premium and GP Blocks premium.
    Thanks

  • Hi there,

The option is in the settings panel:

  • Makes sense, and found that. Thanks!

Can I follow up with one more question?
I downloaded and installed this site preset – https://generatepress.com/site-library/ (ARCHIVE)
On the home-page it has a big featured image and article + 4 others beneath.
Without making any changes or having any other ELEMENTS presets installed, the page displays differently for me out of the box (https://imgur.com/a/j2NhknL) and I am not sure how to restore the styling from the Archive preset. Did 2 clean installes. Everything else seems fine.

Also I noticed that whenever I add a looper element, instead of showing 1 element, it shows 2 (or always an extra one). Maybe that is causing the issue.

    Thanks!

  • The site template link you provided links to the general site library, which template are you referring to?

Your current site is built with a page builder. Are you sure it’s the site you’ve implemented the site template to?

    Let me know 🙂

  • I’m not 100% sure, sorry I’m new to generate press. but the Site Preset I installed is called Archive, and I did it through Appearance -> Generate Press -> Site Library -> Imported Site -> Archive.

I also have the Divi page builder plugin installed at the moment, but I’m trying to get rid of it.
No changes have been made on the main URL rpgwire.com, I am implementing Generate Press through a staging environment https://rpgwire.com/rpg-staging/

  • Ah I see, Archive is the name, sorry I misunderstood it.

But I’m not able to login to your staging site with the user/password, can you check?

  • I have updated the password, sending again. Just tested and it works for me

  • Please see private message*

  • Can you try removing the imported template, then disable all your plugins except GP Premium, GB and GB Pro, then importing it again?

  • Sure, thank you!

  • You are welcome   🙂
