Discrepancy Between Guide and Plugin -Missing Features

  • Why are some of the features described in the guide not included in the plugin?
I bought the latest plugin (Version 2.3.1) yesterday and all its modules are active, but some features are missing
    Like Dynamic Typography
Now look at my screenshot and the image of the site:

There are many examples that I can give

  • sorry wrong picture:
    correct:

  • Hi there,

Have you had the GP theme for a long time now before adding the GP Premium theme?

There was an old font system for the GP theme and if you’ve had your GP theme way before, you’ll still be using the old system. The new Dynamic Typography system is what we use now.

Enabling that will allow you to use the Dynamic Typography system. Reference: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/dynamic-typography-overview/

May we know which other features are missing?

  • To clarify, is the entire General section of the Customizer missing? That should be appearing by default.

If it is, can you try #1 here to debug: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/debugging-tips/

It’s recommended to backup your site before proceeding with this.

  • Yes, I had probably installed generatepress a few years ago.

Now I want to show the new features, what should I do?

To make it clear that I have not used generatepress in these years, I just installed once for tesring and then removed it

  • missing feature:
    Switching from Floats to Flexbox

  • Hi there,

The latest version of GeneratePress uses Flexbox and Dynamic Typography as standard.

    Those options you mentioned eg,

    Switching Floats to Flex
    Use Dynamic Typography

Only show on older sites that were built before we introduced flexbox and dynamic typography.

  • What does old mean?
I used classic editor to write the post and used betheme theme and then changed to gneratepress last day.
Can you explain the old one?
I did not use any builder and my site consists of raw html codes
Do I have to reset the generatpress table for the new version?

In fact, even though I had the possibility to use page builder, I never wrote post with builder, not even guternberg, and then I moved to generaptess, so I wouldn’t have any problems.

  • You don’t need to do anything.
If you do not see the options then that is because you’re using the latest version of the theme.
And the latest version ONLY has the Flexbox and Dynamic Typography. And there is no option to change that.
