Does Pro have a search bar or function of any sort?

Basically the title says it all. I’ve only just subbed to GB Pro and am trying to build my new website, but I’m not a big fan of the standard WordPress search bar because… well, it’s just kind of ugly. Other sites I use as sort of an example have way different search bars or buttons that I fancy much more.

Also, while I’ve got your attention, and go easy on me because I’m new to literally all of this…

I’m trying to create a header that’s like [logo – nav in the middle – search bar] with the navigation permanently centered, and I would LOVE it if the layout of the header would change on mobile to [logo – search button or socials, with mega menu button under it]. Is this even possible? I’m afraid I might be asking too much. If it’s not, I’ll just create two seperate headers or try to fiddle with hiding elements in the one header on mobile etc.

I guess the title didn’t say it all, lol.
Glad to be now part of the GB community. 🙂

(PS. I might ask more annoying questions like these in the nearby future, sorry in advance for that)

  • Hello and welcome to GeneratePress!

The theme has a navigational search modal that you can activate from the Customizer.
    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/navigation-search-modal/

With GenerateBlocks Pro, you can build a custom header including the [logo – nav in the middle – search bar] menu style, you mentioned.

You can start building and get back to us with any questions!

Thanks for your response! I’m not using the Customizer, but the Twenty Twenty Four theme so that I can use the Full Site Editor. The Customizer and I are not friends.

Also, do you happen to know why the GB navigation block keeps showing an old menu that doesn’t even exist anymore? I personally can’t figure out how to get the block to show the right menu, or any other menu at all for that matter.

EDIT: Never mind the 2nd question. I now see that it’s selecting the menu in the WordPress dashboard rather than the navigation menus shown in the editor, for some reason.

  • The navigation search is a GP feature, so if you are not using GP theme, then no, we don’t have a native search block, unfortunately.
