I’m using a query loop block. On the post template block, the dynamic toggle is enabled and links to each single post.
I’m also using effects on this block (Opacity & Blend, Transition, Transform). These are set to work on desktop only. However, when I visit the site on a touch device, I have to double tap each item before it loads the post.
I assumed that by triggering the effects on desktop only that I wouldn’t face double tap hover issues on touch devices. Is there an easy fix for this?
I’ve provided the site URL privately.
Thank you 🙂
Can you try disabling the sticky mobile header to test?
I’ve disabled the mobile header and it’s still happening. I’ve updated the private info with a login if you’d like to take a look?
When I logged in to your site, the sticky mobile header is still on.
I turned it off and cleared cache and tested it on my iPhone, on both Safari and Chrome browser, the double-click issue is gone.
Thank you, that fixed the issue.
Is there a fix for this bug? The UX isn’t great if the header doesn’t stick for mobile.
I have another site (see private info) which uses a sticky header, but “Hide when scrolling down” is unchecked. This site doesn’t suffer the double tap issue.
this is tricky one, as the issue is related to how Apple deals with fixed position elements that move in and out of the screen. Such as what happens when a sticky navigation slides in and out of view.
the problem we have is its not our script thats buggy, its the devices behaviour. And to make matters worse when it comes to debugging; the issue is super inconsistent. Some users experience it , with a higher percentage being on sites running woocommerce or other plugins, and some others do not.
Try the Sticky without the Hide On Scroll option.
That does sound very tricky, especially as the bug happens sporadically!
Thanks for the tips.
Yeah, its really annoying, i think this topic is the first one i have seen in over a year. And i hate not having a fix lol .
Did the NOT hide on scroll method work ?
Sorry for ruining your day 😂
I’ll try the fixed header without it hiding next week and will pop you an update.
Have a good one 🤘🏻
You too !
Happy Monday, David and Ying!
I have good news. The fixed header (with “Hide when scrolling down” un-checked) doesn’t cause the double tap issue.
Hopefully that helps in the future with any other threads that crop up.
Have an awesome week.
Happy Monday too 🙂 and thanks for the feedback as it confirms it is the same apple bug.
Glad to hear its working!
