Duplicating site

  • Hi guys,

I’ve built out a site for a local service business using GP One (link below). I’d now like to duplicate this site for another of their locations. I’d like to keep the design identical, just switch out the colors and logo. How would I do this? Hoping there’s an easy way to do that now I’m using GPOne.

    Thanks

  • Hi there,

With GP Premium you can copy your site styles. Go to Appearance → GeneratePress → Import / Export and click Export. You can export All, or just Global Colors and Typography. (Screenshot)

After that, update the Customizer → Site Identity for the new logo, and adjust the colours under Customizer → Colors.

If you also need to duplicate content, a plugin like All-in-One WP Migration or Duplicator can copy the full site and let you replace branding details.

  • Perfect thanks Chaz. I understand with GPOne that I can control widgets centrally and any changes could get rolled out across both sites?

  • Hi there,

Glad that helped. GP One lets you manage design tokens like Global Colors and Typography in one place, but those settings only apply per site. There isn’t a way to push changes automatically across multiple separate WordPress installs.

If you want both sites to stay in sync, you’d need to export the design from one and import it into the other whenever changes are made.

  • Thanks Chaz, great support.

  • You’re very welcome,
