Dynamic background image in Generateblocks 2.0?

  • Hey team, great job on Generateblock2 2!

I’m currently playing around with it. In the old Generateblocks there was an option to set the background image as a dynamic image, for example the featured image. I can’t seem to find that option in blocks 2.0, only setting an image block. But for something like a hero, I’d rather it be a css background and not an image tag.

If I go to backgrounds-images in the loop it only allows me to select an image, not set “featured image” or something.

Is this still possible or can I just not find it?
    Thanks in advance!

  • Hi there,

Yes, when you select the container and go to the settings panel, you will find Inline Background Image option, the dynamic setting is beside it:

  • Great, thanks, found it! I was looking all over in the other panel, where it used to be. Thanks for the help!

  • You are welcome!

We put it in the setting tab so it’s easier and quicker to access 🙂

  • Hi Ying, I did not want to start a new question because my problem is related with this answer. 🙂 How can we apply image opacity or overlay to this inline bg image? Thanks.

  • Hello.

    1. For container opacity, just add an opacity effect, eg: 40%.

    2. For an overlay, you can add one from the Backgrounds section in the right panel settings. Click the plus icon and add an overlay color.

  • Many thanks.

  • You are welcome!
