Dynamic Data “Remove block if link is empty” not consistent

  • I’ve been aiming to use this “Remove block if link is empty” option with the dynamic data for example hiding a headline block like so:

    View post on imgur.com

1- It generally works, but it leaves the icon in place. Ideally it would remove the text and the icon as well.

2- Sometimes, the ‘No comments’ text will appear though I have removed that text from the dynamic data field.

3- Occasionally when I use “Remove block..” on a headline list of categories, it hides the block when there is actually a category for the post assigned.

Any ideas? I have a number of dynamic data and query blocks in use on the same page.

    thanks!

  • Hi there,

do you have any page caching on the site ? As theres a possibility that what you see is a cached result.

Aside from #1 which is odd that icon isn’t being removed. I’ll do some tests.

  • Yes, we have nginx page caching, cloudflare caching and redis object cache.

I tend to check these first when we have issues and clear them, put cloudflare into dev mode, etc.

I will double check this with some of the items next time I run into this. Keep me posted on the icon piece. Thanks!
