Hello
I’m building a site using GeneratePress and Elementor Pro page builder.
There is an Elementor section at the foot of the home page, just above the ‘Arrange a Consultation’ CTA, which I can change to any colour, apart from transparent which I need the background colour to be.
I’ve changed the section to lime green so anyone will be able to tell the section I am referring to.
I’ve checked my GeneratePress colours in Customizer and they seem to be correct.
Any assistance would be much appreciated as I can’t figure this out at all.
Many thanks

Footer created in Elementor Theme Builder has a white background that won’t go transparent, despite all settings and custom CSS attempts. Is GeneratePress forcing a wrapper/background style I’ve missed?

Hi there,
I can see the section is being set to green by Elementor, and if I change the color to transparent, it works:
https://app.screencast.com/ptNKlLf8gvFxVI don’t see any CSS from GP interfering with the color of that section.
If you can set the color to
transparent
, I can take another look. -

Hello Ying
Many thanks for your reply.
I had set the background colour of the section to green so you would be able to tell the section I was referring to.
I have now set the colour to transparent (HEXA #00000000, RGBA: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0), hsla(0, 0%, 0%, 0), however, it displays as white, and not transparent. This is the same problem I was facing when I reached out.
Hopefully this makes sense, as I can’t figure it out at all.
Any further assistance would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Hi there,
That section is indeed already transparent. What you’re seeing as white is actually the body background color, which has also been set to transparent.

Hello Alvind
Many thanks for your reply, can you explain why it’s not displaying as transparent then, and is there a way of doing this as I must be missing something?
Thank you.

I’m not sure how to explain this more simply, but here’s what’s happening:
If a section is set to transparent, and there is no background color or image set on the element underneath it, the section will appear white by default. This is because the browser will render the background color of the body or HTML element, which is typically white unless explicitly changed.
So even though you’ve set the section to transparent, the white you’re seeing is just the default background color of the page coming through.

Hello Alvind
Yes, I get this, the background colour of the page is set to transparent as far as I’m aware.
As stated in my initial post, I’m able to change the background colour of the section to any other colour, other than transparent, when I do this, it goes white.
What I’m trying to do is turn the background colour so it’s totally transparent, so that the blue background of the section above becomes the background colour.
Hopefully this makes sense. I’ve never had this problem before.
Is there a workaround, or am I missing something?
Thank you
