Elementor Social Icons styling

  • There appears to be a bug across multiple sites I manage that are related to GeneratePress and the styling of the Social Icons widget in Elementor. The issue resolves when switching to the Elementor Hello theme. I have created a screen recorindg that you’ll find in the “Private Information” field.

  • Hi there,

Any chance you can link us to the page in question?

You can use the private information field.

    Let me know 🙂

  • Yup! See PI field.

  • The link you provided is an Elementor site, can you link us to the GP site in question so we can see the issue?

    Let me know 🙂

  • Oh whoops – forgot to change the theme back to GP. Check now!

  • Hi there,

If inspect the icons HTML and the CSS associated with it, there is nothing GP related to it.
I can even delete GPs inline styles and block its JS and CSS request so there is no GP on the front end and the issue persists:

So GP isn’t doing anything to break those styles…
I can only assume that Elementor is loading styles conditionally when its theme is installed.

What happens if you switch to a twenty something theme ?

  • Interesting – yea its an Elementor thing I guess. Twenty Twenty Two has the same issue. I’ll get in touchw with Elementor.

  • You’re welcome
