Elements Header and Adding Search

  • I would like to add the search in the menu as with your default header but cannot find a way to do this. I created a header using one of your templates in Elements but not sure how we can add the ‘search’ icon etc

  • Hello,

    Please, see this post.

  • Hi George – I saw this but it doesn’t make any sense to me! It doesn’t’t explain where and how to add this. Please see the link in ‘private information’

  • Hi Andy,

Which part do you think does not make sense?
Please check the screenshot in the linked post, it should be pretty straight forward.

  • Hi Ying

I tried looking on Adam and Kyles GeneratePress tutorials but to no avail. What I did was to try to add a button for the search but in the header. I see in one of your links to another client it’s called ‘GP search modal’ and guess not the standard button. I don’t know where or how to add it to the header and cannot find custom attributes ‘data-gpmodal-trigger=”gp-search”.

To be honest the default header in Elements is perfect if I could just put the menu in the centre and not right. Perhaps css would be better do this? 😇

  • Hi Andy,

    Perhaps this method is clearer:

Can you give that a try? Let us know if you have any questions.

  • Thank you – finally got it working 😇

  • Glad to hear that!
