Elements Performance Question

  • Hi, was wondering if creating many Elements, say in my case Hook Elements to show up on specific product category archives would effect performance. I have a lot of product category archive pages and wanted to create an Element Hook for each with specific SEO content to show on each of those archive pages.

    Any input is appreciated,

  • Hi there,

Each element is a custom post type, and it requires 1 query to the database for the element to be displayed.
So the Element itself has very little impact on performance and will be unnoticeable.

But I cannot speak for what you place inside that Hook which would have the same performance impact as if it were added inside the post content.

  • Thanks for the info David. Yes, definitely if I was going to use any query loops inside the element it would definitely impact performance. I will be just using just HTML inside the Element hook.

  • You’re welcome
