Featured image doesn’t show caption

  • Hi,

My website doesn’t display the caption on featured images. I’ve added the caption in image library but it doesn’t show up in the front end. All other images in the article show the caption correctly, it’s just the featured image that’s the issue.

  • Hi there,

you can add the caption in your content template like so:

    1. edit the block element content template you have for your single post
    2. select the Image Block for the Featured Image.
2.1 temporarily disable its Dynamic data options in the sidebar.
2.2 in the block toolbar click the cc button to insert the Caption headline.
    3. select the caption block and set its Dynamic data options to show the current images Caption
    4. select the image block and re-activate its dynamic data to show the featured image.

  • Hi,

I tried the steps you mentioned but it’s not working. I turned off dynamic data, and clicked on the cc button and it did nothing. Nothing happens when I click the cc button. Screenshot attached.

  • Based on the screenshot of action taken, you didn’t do step 3 which is enable the headline block’s dynamic data.

I don’t see the step 4 being done as well.

Let me know if I miss anything.

  • yes. you’re not understanding my exact issue. Step 2.2 isn’t working. When I click on CC nothing happens. The caption headline is not being inserted. I need the caption headline to be inserted before I can do step 3 which is to select the caption block. Please read my issue carefully, again. I’ve added a screen recording to make it clear.

  • Hi there,

You need to insert any image into the Image block first before you can add a caption. Once you’ve done that, you can proceed with the next steps.
