This is a strange one. I’m building a dual-language site in English and Greek, using TranslatePress. It’s currently in Coming Soon mode and undergoing client review, so I’ve uploaded a copy to another server for debug purposes – details in Private Info.
I have 2 Google fonts (Inter, Literata) downloaded to the font library, which are displaying as required on the front end, but with TranslatePress activated no fonts are listed in the font library (‘No fonts have been installed yet’). Even if I add another Google font, which works as expected, nothing shows up in the font library with TP activated.
If I deactivate TP the fonts appear in the font library as expected. All software is up to date, the site is running PHP 8.3. I’ve disabled all plugins one at a time and all together, except GP Premium and TP, and the issue persists. I’ve also enabled WPDebug but nothing relevant there. And I’ve removed a bunch of custom functions (e.g. empty functions file), all plugins but GP Premium and TP deactivated, same issue. Ditto with all custom CSS. I’ve also tried older PHP versions back to 7.4, no change.
I’ve tried to recreate it with a fresh local install, only TP and GP Premium activated, all TP settings identical, but the issue is not replicated. Having stripped the site to the bare minimum and still having the issue I’m not sure what to try next?
I’m going to raise it with TranslatePress too but wanted to ask here in case anyone has had a similar issue or can point me in the right direction as to what else to try.

I’ve tried to recreate it with a fresh local install, only TP and GP Premium activated, all TP settings identical, but the issue is not replicated.
I installed and activated the plugin on my site, however, I don’t see the issue as well.
If you can prepare a staging site of the site with issue, we can do some testing on it.

Hi Ying. As I say in the private info, I’m happy to set up a temp login, I just need to know what email address to use for the user account.

Hi there,
You can use any dummy email address, it won’t matter. Once the temporary admin account is created, simply provide the username and password.
However, we recommend using this plugin, as it allows you to generate a temporary login with one click and set an expiry date or revoke access at any time:

It seems when the TranslatePress plugin is activated, the customizer also doesn’t work anymore.
Can you try re-install the 2 TranslatePress plugins to see if that helps?

Hi Ying. The customizer on the staging site works for me with both TP plugins enabled? I’ve already reinstalled both TP plugins to see if that helped, and it didn’t.

This is a really weird issue, the only thing I noticed is that the lang being set to el for the font-library page.

I tried adding
/wp-admin/to the exclusion path of the translation plugin, but it does not seem to be working, thelangis still set toel. Can you check with their support on how to revert thelangtoenfor the font library page? -
That’s it Ying. I need to review the TP and site settings – it seems that having the default language in TP set to English, but then dragging and dropping Greek above it to ensure the site loads in Greek on the front end, causes the admin to load with the lang tag set to Greek, which causes the downloaded Google Fonts, and the saved WPTUPG grid name to not be displayed. If I drag English to the top of the list in TP settings, and change the site and user profile language settings, those admin pages load correctly.
Thanks for your help, I couldn’t see wood for trees, and sorry to trouble you with a non-GP issue. I’ll get onto TP documentation and sort the settings out.
