footer menu

  • Hi,

I have a footer element at the bottom of my website. It has copyright info text (headline block) on the left and 3 text links (headline block) on the right. It took me quite an effort to align and set up this so it aligns and looks ok on all devices.
See footer element content editor settings https://snipboard.io/kSc7d2.jpg

Since these 3 text links are important links to the legal pages of the website, I was wondering it they need to be items in a menu instead. Would this be important? Or should I just leave the current setup alone since I need to have the copyright text on the same line on the left and the menu or links on the right. (Would this be possible with a menu as well?)

I now tried out setting up a secondary menu for the the footer.
    See menu location settings https://snipboard.io/mFLvhq.jpg
    See menu settings https://snipboard.io/A147Qd.jpg

Here is the footer widget: https://snipboard.io/qpiev9.jpg

Here is how it currently appears on the page https://snipboard.io/mK49iE.jpg

Can this secondary menu appear in the footer instead? If yes, how do I do this?

How can it be styled the same as the current footer element and replace it?

    Thanks

  • Another thing I need to do is enable the footer to stay at the bottom of the screen for pages that have little content such as this search results page, see screenpic https://snipboard.io/nYBmyU.jpg.

However, I don’t want a sticky footer. Is this still possible?

This again isn’t a theme-related issue so not something we can answer here. Here is the support forum scope: https://generate.support/what-support-includes/

Here is a good option for the footer menu:

And let’s keep ONE question per topic.

    Thank you.

  • Thanks. I now created a footer bar widget. I need some help with spacing and styling, plus I would like the footer stay at the bottom of the page for short content pages. Would it be ok to start a new topic for that?

Yup – please keep one question per topic.

    Thanks!
