Footer widgets settings not working

  • Hello,

I have 2 sites with GP Premium 2.3.1.

On one of them I can configure the number of footer widgets in Customizer > Layout > Footer, even 4 or 5, and they show correctly on the web page. I can see the selected number of widgets in Customizer > Widgets (up to 5). I also have the Footer Bar Alignment option. All good here.

On the other site, the number of shown footer widgets remains the same (3) in Customizer > Widgets and on the web page, regardless my settings in Customizer > Layout > Footer (0-5), and the fact that I populated all 5 with some content. The Footer Bar Alignment option is missing from Layout > Footer, and the Customizer > Widgets is showing the following message:

“Your theme has 5 other widget areas, but this particular page does not display them.
You can navigate to other pages on your site while using the Customizer to view and edit the widgets displayed on those pages.”

Note: I purged all cache, but no change.

  • Hi there,

can you share a link to the problem site ?

  • Credentials provided.

  • Hi there,

You have a Layout Element overriding your Footer Widget setting. See: https://share.getcloudapp.com/rRuzRbAo

If you don’t want it overridden, set it to default instead.

Let us know how it goes.

  • That was the problem. It’s fixed now. Thank you for your great support.

  • You’re welcome!
