Fullwidth layout using Loop Template and Content Template Element in Elements

  • I’m struggling to get my content to be fullwidth when using an Elements Loop Template or Content Template for a category archive page for a custom post type. Custom post type is created with CPT UI plugin. I’m also using free ACF.

I’ve got a global layout Element for the entire site for fullwidth, and that doesn’t work for this archive page. I created an additional layout Element for full width for the custom post type and its archives. I’ve tried with plugins disabled.

I’ve set the individual outer container to be fullwidth in the editor. I’ve tried various combinations of all of the above, but I still can’t get the outer container to be full width. There is no caching in use that I’m aware of on the server and non on the website install.

You can see from this test page that the background color is contained by the content-width. I would like the background color to go fullwidth.

I have no doubt it’s user error somewhere, so if someone can point me in the right direction, I’d be very grateful!

  • Hi there,

It seems you have another layout element which sets the content container width to 1280px, can you check?

  • Thank you! I excluded the CPT from the site wide layout Element (it had a content width in there!), and created a separate layout for the CPT archives. I think I can get it working now the way I want.

    I appreciate the help.

  • You are welcome   🙂
