GB V2 Layout issues again

  • Hi team,

I had this same issue about a year ago and it seems to be happening again, using the same Electrician Theme.
In the backend I can see the list Text and they look as they should, a list. However, when I look in the front end, two of the list items are next to each other. This is clearly a bug and I hope you can address it sometime soon. GB V2 is challenging enough, without bugs to content with.

In the meantime, how do I make the three list texts present on top of each other?

  • Hi there,

That’s not a bug, the checklist appears stacked because the block editor area is narrow, causing the items to wrap. On the frontend, it displays inline since there’s more space. The block editor doesn’t always reflect the exact frontend layout.

To fix it, select the parent container of the heading, subheading, and checklist, then set its display to Flex under the Layout panel.

  • Thanks Alvind, that fixed it. I guess its just the way the Starter Site was put together, that makes this a bit confusing.

Similar issue (some feedback) with how the Hovered Links has to be configured and you can’t just select a hover colour like in the good old days of GB V1.

I get it now, but still can’t make it make sense. This starter site has default Phone Numbers, but when you change the text to a link, naturally the hover Link and link hover colours default and its really confusing to set the colours up using the ‘Main’, ‘Hover’ and ‘Links’ buttons, which don’t actually do anything and you instead have to click the ‘Selector’ button and configure your own selector (as none of the default selectors work either). While I have kind of figured this out now, I reckon it could be done better. Just my thoughts!

Thanks as always Alvind, sorry to keep moaning about V2.

  • It’s okay, and thanks for the feedback! 🙂

Actually, there’s a plan to streamline those controls — for example, making options like hover states easier to access instead of having to go through multiple clicks in the selector. This improvement is part of the broader effort to make the workflow smoother and more intuitive for users, so hopefully it’ll be implemented soon.

  • Thanks for listening Alvind, I look forward to that update.

  • You’re welcome!
