I’m currently rebuilding the homepage of my site using GeneratePress + GenerateBlocks Pro, and I’m encountering several persistent editor and UI issues that I haven’t been able to resolve despite extensive troubleshooting and time spent.
Environment
Homepage rebuilt as a new draft page
Issues occur in Chrome; behavior slightly better in Edge, but still inconsistent
All plugins have been tested disabled/enabled; cache cleared; browser restartedIssue: Grid block behavior is inconsistent and confusing
I encountered multiple Grid-related issues while building a testimonial section:
Some blocks labeled “Grid” do not expose column controls
Other GenerateBlocks Grids do expose Columns with Desktop / Tablet / Mobile icons
There appears to be more than one Grid implementation, with different capabilities, but no clear distinction in the UI
This caused significant time spent troubleshooting layouts that ultimately could not support columns at all
Only after deleting and rebuilding with a different Grid block did column controls appear.Related to this build is the
Issue of Missing Typography controls (Line Height)When selecting a Paragraph block inside a GenerateBlocks Container:
Under Block → Typography, there is no Line Height control
This occurs consistently, including in newly created blocks
I am unable to adjust line height locally or globally for specific sections (e.g. testimonials)
This makes fine-tuning typography impossible.General Related Experience Issue: Editor instability / autosave hanging
While working in the editor:
Autosave frequently gets stuck indefinitely
The editor becomes unresponsive, forcing me to close the tab and re-login
This occurs most often when editing Grid or Container blocks
The behavior occurs in both Chrome and in Edge. Previously submitted a ticket for thisWhat I’m hoping you can help clarify
Why is Line Height missing from Typography controls in my setup?
Are there multiple Grid block variants, and if so, how can users clearly identify which one supports columns?
Are there known issues with editor autosave hanging when working with Grids / Containers?I’m happy to provide screenshots, screen recordings, or environment details if needed.
Thank you — I appreciate your help. I’m otherwise very happy with GeneratePress/GenerateBlocks and want to ensure I’m using it correctly.
Please provide details so I can provide access to my site
Best regards,

Hi there,
Can you provide some screenshots of the issues? It’s hard to imagine an issue without seeing it.
Thanks and let me know!

Hi there,
You can use a web tool like Postimages to upload your screenshot and then share the URL here.
To address your questions:
Why is Line Height missing from Typography controls in my setup?
You mentioned you’re using the Paragraph block. That’s a core WordPress block and, as far as I know, it doesn’t include a Line Height setting. If you need full typography control, you can use the GB Text block, which has complete layout options including Line Height.
Are there multiple Grid block variants, and if so, how can users clearly identify which one supports columns?
In GenerateBlocks, there’s only one Grid block by default, which supports adding columns/containers. Did you happen to install any other plugin that provides a similar Grid block?
Are there known issues with editor autosave hanging when working with Grids / Containers?
There are no widespread reports of this issue. Usually, if autosave hangs, it’s caused by local factors like browser performance, extensions, or server response issues rather than the Grid/Container blocks themselves.

Hi there,
Thanks for the clarification — that helps. I have a few follow-ups and include screenshots.
1. Line Height / Typography
I understand now that Line Height is not available in the core Paragraph block and requires the GB Text block. However, this wasn’t obvious in the editor UI, especially since Typography controls appear partially but without Line Height. Iinclude a screenshot showing where this caused confusion.2. Grid block behavior
I can confirm I am using only GenerateBlocks Pro — no other grid/column plugins are installed. However, the Grid block UI behaves inconsistently depending on selection context (Grid vs inner Container), which made it unclear where column controls should appear. I include a screenshot showing this.3. Autosave hanging
While I understand this may be local, the issue occurs repeatedly in both Chrome and Edge when working with nested Grids/Containers. I include one screenshot showing the autosave hang state for reference. I don’t experience this on my other site.Screenshots are attached. Thanks for your help — I appreciate it.

Thanks for the screenshots.
Regarding the Paragraph block line height issue – unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about it, as that is the default WordPress core block behavior and there is no way we can override it from our side.
The Grid block behavior – that is the expected behavior. Full layout control will be available when you select the individual inner container inside the Grid; the Grid block itself can only set the gaps and alignment, as it is the wrapper of the inner containers.
Autosave hanging issue – we may need to take a closer look on that. If you could provide a temporary login, we can check the backend, which would be great.

Could you send me the link to generate a temporary password again. I seem to be having issues with my previous download. Thanks

Could you send me the link to generate a temporary password again.
Do you mean GeneratePress?
If so, you can just click on Lost your password at the login page, it will send you the link to change password automatically.
