Get the “category” word out of my archive pages

  • I’m trying to create a post structure that looks like this:

    website.com/something/something-else/post-title

But when I try to view the archive page for website.com/something/something-else/post-title, it shows up like this instead: website.com/category/something/something-else/post-title

The “category” came with the Explore template, and it’s fine that it’s there. I can by-pass it and create my own categories and sub-categories as I want, but the word itself “category” will still show up in the url structure when I go to the archive page.

    I must be missing something?

I also tried creating Custom Post Types, and was successful, but I couldn’t create sub-categories for them, and got stuck there.

  • Hi there,

Usually, SEO plugins like Yoast will have an option to do that.
