Hello valued support team,
is there a way to create the complete design visually via an element, but write the text content individually on the respective pages? I would like to take over the layout of services for branches and the subpages. Thanks for the feedback or link to the correct article in the documentation.
Best regards

Hi Oliver,
You can use a Block Element – Loop Template.
This is useful especially if you have custom meta fields and you want a very custom design.
When you use a Loop Template, it will override the template, and then, you can still add your content through a WP Post Content Block.
There’s no specific documentation for this yet, but this is the Element you’ll need: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-loop-template/
or
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-content-template/
These two should work the same, overriding the template on Post pages.
You can try it out first and see how it goes.

Hello Fernando,
thank you for the fast reaction. Then I’m already on the right track with my previous tests. But is there also the possibility of installing several containers one below the other in the template, which are then displayed one below the other without text on the selected pages? As soon as I install a container in the template, it is not displayed when editing the respective page.
Regards Oliver

No, the “Container” you add in the Block Element won’t appear on the Edit page of a page or post. I doesn’t work that way. It’s not a template for the Edit page of the Post/page.
You can think of it this way, the Post is the content, and you use the Content Template to alter this Post.
Metaphor-wise, the
post - contentis the Product, and theContent Templateis the factory that outputs the finished product. 🙂If the feature you’re looking for is the one in your description, that’s not possible in GP. I’m not sure if there’s a plugin for this either. Usually, it’s Page builders.
That said, if you want to separate content Container by Container, what you can do is add custom fields to your Posts. Then, say custom – field for Container 1, will be outputted through a dynamic GB Headline Block in your Content/Loop Template. The same goes for Container 2, and so on and so forth. This is the basic concept.

Hello Fernando,
ok, thanks for the detailed answer. I just wanted to make sure with this question that I’m not being inefficient with what I know now. Then thanks again for the feedback! I wish you all the best and health.
