Global Styles for button text picking up customizer link color

  • I was making a global style for buttons and specified the text color. When I apply the GS to the button block on a page and clear local styles the text color is honoring the link color from the customizer, not the text color specified in the button GS.

I can fix this by applying a local style to the button, but that defeats part of the reason for using GS in the first place.

I would welcome your thoughts on this.

    Thanks,
    Scott

  • Hi there,

Any chance you can link us to the page in question?

You can use the private information field.

    Let me know 🙂

  • I am attaching two private links. Home has global buttons wiht local button text color. Home-2 has the same global buttons with all local styles cleared.

  • Hi there,

I’ve checked in with our lead developer Tom and this is his answer:

There is no solution here. The Global Style selector can’t be more specific than the content link color.

In most cases users don’t need the Content Link color set – they can just use the Body link color.

Let me know if this helps 🙂

  • As Tom suggested, I think the content link color setting was more aggressive than I needed.

    Thanks as always!

    Scott

  • No problem 🙂
