Google Font API Seems to be Obstructing Local Installed Fonts

  • Google Font API Seems to be Obstructing Local Installed Fonts

    @Ying
    https://generate.support/topic/local-google-fonts-not-rendering/#post-79339
    What tool are you referring to in the documentation and where is it?

    @support

    Trying to use Source Serif 4 for headlines
    Fonts have been uploaded to /uploads/fonts/
    Customizer Custom CSS source serif fonts links have been configured to point to the uploaded fonts
    Customizer Typography has been configured to install Source Serif 4 without the Google API and H1, H2, H3 tags have been set to Source Serif 4
    Sample Style page examples have also been configured to point to Source Serif 4
    Font WOFF2 source files are Adobe GitHub (reliable source)
    Google API toggle has been activated to turn off Google Fonts

    Testing – When I load the sample style page, it is ignoring Source Serif 4 and instead using the default inherited font. I’ve uninstalled, reinstalled, cleared cache, etc.

    I’m out of ideas. Any suggestions would be very helpful, Thank you so much

  • Hi there,

    This is the tool that Ying refers to: https://gwfh.mranftl.com/fonts

    It looks like you have implemented the correct local font hosting setup. The problem could be due to the font file itself. Can you reupload the fonts by downloading them using the tool above?

  • Thanks Alvind, I’ll give that a try

  • No problem.

  • Hi Alvind, wanted to let you know that the Google Tool did the trick. For some strange reason, other sources of the font didn’t render even though from reliable sources.
    Thanks for your help!

  • Awesome, glad to hear that!
