Hi,
Roboto Flex or another Variable normally includes a full range of weights from 100 to 900 but I only see the single 400 weight. GP doesn’t support Variable Fonts? -
Hi there,
The fonts are fetched directly from Google via API.
If you do not see the desired font weight, you can download the font package from Google fonts and use the upload custom fonts option to upload it.

Yes, I know but I can’t change weight in Typography. I uploaded one file Roboto-Flex-Variable.woff2 with full range of weights from 100 to 900 but I only see the single 400 weight. Why I can’t change it in Customizer?

Then I guess it’s the issue related to the font itself.
Do you see the same issue with other fonts?

This is a modern “Variable” font type that contains all font types in one file, which is very convenient. The important question is, does GP Premium support this font type?

Hi there,
to install a Google Variable font you need to download the variable font from fonts.google.com and upload it to the GP Font Library as a Custom Font.
There are limitations; such as only selecting fonts in steps of 100 from 100 to 900. And there’s no other special feature support at this time.
However, you should note that Variable fonts can be significantly larger then their individual .woff counterparts. For example Roboto Flex in its entirety is 1.7mb which is around 40 times larger than a single .woff font….

No, I have Roboto Flex Variable “latin-ext” file only 150 kb and it has everything but problem is not support by GPP. In customizer I can change nothing of weights but I have 100-900 in this file.. I lost one day.. 🙁

I tried installing the original file from google fonts and it works correctly in both GP and GenerateBlocks ie. i can select and render any of the weight settings.
We can’t account for custom variants of the original files.
Where did you get the Latin only version from ?
