GP Hook-Element Error: Unable to execute PHP as DISALLOW_FILE_EDIT is defined

  • Hello, I have a special issue with GP hook-elements on a new server of my webspace hoster. The new servers are super fast, but/and have a quite restrictive firewall. This is probably causing the error message in the hook element “Unable to execute PHP as DISALLOW_FILE_EDIT is defined.”. Disallow_file_edit is of course not activated, but obviously the hook element is blocked (doesn’t matter if or what code is in it). The hoster does not (yet) have a solution for this. Therefore my question to you: Can you recognise from your side why the GP hook element is blocked? Or is there an alternative to inject the PHP code in defined archives and in a defined hook (woocommerce_before_shop_loop_item_title)? I attached the Link to a test-installation for you.

Thank you for your kind support.

    Greetings
    Claus

  • Hi there,

GeneratePress will disable PHP execution if DISALLOW_FILE_EDIT is defined anywhere, even if it’s set to false. You will need to ask the hosting support to completely remove this line to enable PHP code execution in the Hook Element.

  • Thank you, Alvind! I will contact the Hoster and send him your reply for further information.

  • No problem, let us know 🙂
