GP Premium – Issue with links on homepage only

  • Google are refusing to index anything more than the homepage on 2 of our websites using GP Premium and it seems we may have found the reason. We’ve compared this with other sites using GP Premium that work as intended.

Looking at the source code, all the links on the menu and also the homepage itself appear without an initial ‘/’. On all other pages within the sites, the links appear exactly as they should.

This ONLY affects the homepage of the sites.

Interestingly, if I re-create the page from scratch it works as intended UNTIL it’s set as the homepage within wordpress, when the links instantly become malformed again.

    Thanks,

(site details added to private info box)

  • Hi there,

GP does not have contorl over the WP menu builder, meaning it does not have the ability to change the URL of the menu items. I wonder if one of your plugins is doing that.

So please do another test when all plugins are disabled, and if you have a child theme, switch to the parent theme.

Let me know how it goes!
