GP Premium requires GeneratePress to be your active theme. Install now.

  • Hi there,

I am getting an error/notice appear in wp-admin stating “GP Premium requires GeneratePress to be your active theme. Install now.”

This has never appeared before. I have up to date plugins for all, and use a child theme for years – can you let me know why this is appearing and how to remove it?

    Kind regards,

    Will

  • Hi there,

That notice appears only if GeneratePress is not the active theme. If you’re using GeneratePress but still seeing this message, there might be an issue.

Can you check under Appearance > GeneratePress to see if all the premium modules are available?

  • Yes all premium modules are available and working as intended. The popup just randomly started appearing?

  • Can you try switching to the parent theme to test?

  • Ah yes thank you – that worked and found the root cause being the style.css of the child!

  • You are welcome   🙂
