Hero Element

  • Hello,

I want to create a hero image for my homepage, but I am having a hard time finding information on this. I found this article below, but I don’t see a “page hero” option under pages or elements in WordPress. My license says GP premium, so I don’t understand why I don’t see this.

    Here is the article:
    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/page-hero-examples/

I like example three on the URL link. Do you have any additional information on how to create this for my homepage only? Is this possible with my current theme (WordSmith)? Website is travelbygrain.com

    Thanks!

    Jessica

  • Hi there,

The article you are looking at is using header element which is in HTML format. We would recommend using block element – page hero instead:
    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-page-hero/

To use Elements, go to Appearance > GeneratePress, and enable the Elements module first.

And is your home a static page or the blog page?

If it’s a static page, you do NOT need a block element – page hero, you can directly build it in the page editor.

And you can use this method to merge the header with the content or page hero:
